New Holstein—Herman Libke, 65, died Thursday night at his home in Louis Corners. He had been seriously ill for the past five weeks.
Mr. Libke was born Sept 6, 1881, on a farm in the town of New Holstein, a son of Mrs. and Mrs. Peter Libke, Sr., and was married Oct. 18, 1905, to Helen Jochimsen of New Holstein. They lived in Canada for five years after their marriage, and then returned to New Holstein, where Mr. Libke was employed at the Hart-Carter Co., Lauson division. For the past two years the couple had lived at Louis Corners.
Survivors are his wife, five son, Ervin, in Canada, Glendon, New Holstein, Roland, Orville and Kenneth, at home, four daughters, Miss Viola, of Sheboygan, Mrs. Phillip (Gene) Conrad, and Mrs. Gordon (Delphia) Salzman, both of Kiel, and Florence, at home, five grandchildren, three brothers, John, of Alto, Ia., Henry in Canada, and Peter, New Holstein, a sister, Mrs. Emma Sulzbach, Long Beach, Cal. A daughter, a brother and four sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Erbe-Hoffman Funeral home. The Rev. John E. Seidler, pastor of St. John Evangelical and Reformed church will officiate, and burial will be made in the New Holstein City cemetery.
