Services Held on Monday for Elsie Rudesill

Elsie M. Rudesill, age 73, died Thursday, April 12 at her home during her sleep. She was born April 8, 1906, to the late Webster and Caroline (Krogh) Knerr at Deer Park, WI. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and was a member of the New Centerville Methodist Church. She was treasurer of her church and a life member of the United Methodist Church.

On April 23, 1930, she was united in marriage to Andrew Scott Rudesill at Hammond, WI. This union was blessed with a family of 6 children; Kent of Baldwin, WI, Lorraine, Mrs. Harold Turner of Spring Valley, WI, Mary, Mrs. Leonard Place, of Oshkosh, WI, Audrey, Mrs. Joseph Menter of Knapp, WI and Judy, Mrs. Charles Olson of Midland, MI and Troy, deceased.

Elsie had attended Business College in Minneapolis after graduating from elementary school. She was an active member of the Locust Grove Homemakers Club.

Following marriage the Rudesill's had lived in various locations where Mr. Rudesill worked on road construction. The past 44 years Elsie had lived on a farm in Gilman Township, Pierce County.

Preceding her in death were her husband in 1968 and son Troy in 1967, Also 2 brothers, Victor and Owen.

Survivors include her 5 children; one brother William Knerr of Vista, CA; one sister, Alice, Mrs. Stanley Birkel, of Ellsworth, WI,. 21 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews and other more distant relatives.

Visitation was held Sunday at the Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley with funeral services Monday, April 16 at the New Centerville United Methodist Church, Rev. Ned Hintzman officiating. Mrs. Thomas Wiff was organist for congregational singing. Burial was in the Mr. Olivet Cemetery, New Centerville, WI.

Pallbearers were grandsons Douglas, Andrew, Scott Rudesill, Joseph Menter Jr., Carter and Bradley Turner.

Note: Scott was unable to attend, he was honorary pallbearer. Eric Turner served as pall bearer in his place.
