Willard James Higdon, 85, of Clarkson, passed away September 12, 1998 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.


Born 2/7/1913 in Grayson Co, KY, he was the son of James Edward and Carrie Belle Smith Higdon and was married to Mary Rhea Higdon, all who preceded him in death.


He was a member of the St. Benedict Catholic Church and was a retired punch press operator.


Survivors include two sons, James Higdon of Shelbyville, IN and Joe Higdon of Edinburgh, IN; five daughters, Martha Christine Branson and Millie Bruner. both of Shelbyville, IN, Mary Harsh of Ogleville, IN, Carrie Sweet and Rita Bradley, both of Clarkson; two sisters, Lois Alvey of Leitchfield and Nora Higdon of Elizabethtown; five brothers, Virgil of Summit, Dewey and Frank, both of Franklin, IN and Robert and George Higdon, both of Clarkson, 33 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.


Funeral services were held September 15, 1998 at the St Benedict Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Hayes officiating. Internment followed in the St Benedict Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home in Clarkson.
