Robert Higdon, 80, of Leitchfield, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003. He was a retired construction worker.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Deanie Higdon; a son, Larry Robert Higdon; two sisters, Pearl Higdon and Lois Alvey; and two brothers, Willard Higdon and Wayne Higdon.

Survivors include four sons, Jerry Higdon of Elizabethtown, Chris Higdon of Leitchfield and Freelon Higdon and Jeff Higdon, both of Clarkson; seven daughters, Ann McClure, Elaine Higdon, Vickie Richardson, June Shaw and Linda Henderson, all of Clarkson, Mary Embry of Leitchfield, and Tammy Houchens of Brandenburg; 28 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Central time Wednesday at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home in Clarkson with Brother Joe Watson officiating. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Catholic Cemetery. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Central time today at the funeral home.
