Tompkins, Maude B.-Age 89, of Dayton passed away Tuesday, May 26, 1987. She is the first cousin to former Secretary of State, Cordell Hull. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H.; daughters: Louise Bridges, Charlene Hess, Lela Tompkins and son, Edward H. Tompkins. She is survived by daughters, Marjorie Ellis and husband, Welmon, Maxine Bata; daughter-in-law, Wanda Tompkins, all of Dayton; sister, Floy Cross of Armathwaite Community; brother, Roy Hull of the Armathwaite community; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Armathwaite, TN and attended East Dayton Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 30, at 10 a.m. at the Tobias Funeral Home, Belmont Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Faught officiating with interment in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
