Mrs Emma Weuve, 76, a life long resident of this vicinity passed away Wednesday evening, September 27th at the Gerald Nolta home following an illness of long duration. Mrs Weuve had suffered with arthritis for a number of years and about 15 years ago fell and broke her hip. She recovered from the fall, however, but about a year and a half ago, while on her way to church, fell and broke her other hip. She had been in declining health since that time and for the past nine weeks had been in serious condition.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the St Paul Lutheran Church with the rev Elmer J Braun, officiating. Interment was in Hillside cemetery.

Mrs Weuve was born Emma Angeline Hennis on October 6, 1873 in Minerva township, Marshall county, the daughter of Henry and Amelia Thomas Hennis. She was baptized in infancy and confirmed at the usual age. She was a life long member of the Lutheran church.

After the formal education in the State Center public schools, she remained in the parental home until April 5, 1893 when she was united in marriage to Ulysses Weuve. Two children were born to the couple, both of whom survive.

Mr and Mrs Weuve farmed six and one-half miles northeast of State Center in Minerva township until Mr Weuve's death in 1938. Following her husband's death Mrs Weuve continued to live on the home place, assisted in farm management by her daughter and husband, Mr and Mrs Gerald Nolta.

Mrs Weuve also made her home with the Earl Weuve's for a number of years following her husband's death.

In 1944 when the Nolta's moved to State Center, Mrs Weuve accompanied them to make her home here.

She is survived by a son Earl Weuve and a daughter, Mrs Gerald Nolta, both of State Center; two brothers, Will and Henry Hennis of Madelia, Minnesota; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
