Donald L. Evenson, age 67, of 18107 U.S. Highway 151, Valders, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, Thursday evening, March 25, 2004, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2004, at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Donald Staude with burial to follow at Valders West Cemetery.

Donald was born Oct. 27, 1936, in the town of Liberty, son of the late Bennett and Myrna Damm Evenson. He was a graduate of Valders High School, class of 1954. On Jan. 16, 1960, Donald married Judith Gosz in the chapel at First Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Don was employed for many years with Evenson Construction and also plowed snow for 30 years for the town of Liberty. He was an avid sportsman, especially enjoying fishing and was a member of the Liberty Hunting Club.

Survivors include his wife: Judy Evenson, Valders; two sons and daughters-in-law: Lee and Raeline Evenson, rural Valders; Todd and Debbie Evenson, Collins; two daughters and sons-in-law: Lori and Scott Christel, Valders; Kelly and Mathew Krogh, Valders; eight special grandchildren: Kurt and Jill Evenson, Megan and Justin Evenson, Jana and Sydney Christel, Amanda and Kiara Krogh; one great-granddaughter: Jadelyn Evenson; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Marlyn and Margaret Evenson, Gene and Veronica Evenson, Dennis and Marlene Evenson; four sisters and two brothers-in-law: Betty Jeske, Joyce Wiegert, June and Dan Meyer, Virginia and Bob Meyer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Audrey and Ernie Strasburg, Donna and Mike Mowrer, Nancy Hammersley, Kayleen and Blake Halderson, Danny and Judy Gosz, Marilou and Bob Mueller, Ronnie Gosz, John Gosz. Nieces, nephews other relatives and friends also survive.

Donald was also preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Meyer, and one brother, Roger Evenson.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 29, 2004, at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders.

The family would like to thank the many friends and relatives that helped Don during his health struggles over these past years.

The Christianson & Deja Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Valders, is assisting the Evenson family with funeral arrangements.
