George W. Straw was the s/o Daniel David Straw and Sarah P. (Melvin) Straw. He served from New Hampshire in the WAR OF THE REBELION 1861 - 1866
George W. Straw was a member of the SECOND REGIMENT OF U.S. SHARPSHOOTERS (Berdan's Sharpshooters) which was part of the United States Army and not affiliated with a state organization. Individual companies were, however, recruited primarily from men living in a particular state and thus the regiment represented an assemblage of soldiers from many Northern states.
