Frank Karstedt(sic), Town Schleswig, Dies Saturday
Kiel – Frank Karstedt, aged 66, a town of Schleswig retired farmer, died at Rochester, Minn, Saturday afternoon, and his remains were brought home for burial Tuesday.
Mr. Karstedt went to Rochester last Wednesday for an operation. His condition was so serious that the physicians and surgeons at the Mayo clinic held slight hope for his recovery when there and he continued to grow worse until his death Saturday.
Born near Howards Grove, Sheboygan county, on Sept. 15, 1861, Mr. Karstedt lived there until about forty years ago when he went to Town Schleswig on a farm, which he operated for many years.
Deceased is survived by his wife, who is confined to her bed by illness, four sons, three daughters, and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held at the home at 2 p.m., Tuesday, the Rev. Mr. S. Saewert of Kiel officiating. Interment will be made in the Fischer cemetery.
