Sophia Elizabeth Gorsuch married in Knox Co. on the 31st of December, 1898, to Howard J. Stinemetz and they had 7 children: Arthur Sr. 1899-1985, Laura 1901-1938 (married 1922 Clarence W. Paazig), Bessie S. 1902-1953 (married 1925 Clarence C. Lahmon), Dwight 1904-1965, Howard "Ross" 1907-1977, and Hazel 1910 (married 1928 John Andrew Schnebly). TJD2013

.. Mrs. Sophia Elizabeth Steinmetz, 87, Hopewell Rd., died today at 6:45 a.m. in Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
.. She is the widow of Howard J. Steinmetz, who died in 1947. Mrs. Steinmetz was a member of the Hopewell Church and the WSCS of the church.
.. Survivers are a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Calhoon of Mount Vernon; two sons, Arthur S. of Mount Vernon and Ross of Springfield; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
.. Friends may call Sunday from 2 untill 4 and 7 to 9 o'clock at the Dowds Funeral Home where the funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. The Rev. David Liscomb will officiate and burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery.
