Mrs. Lau was born Louise Ibe, Oct. 30, 1886, in the town of Schleswig, near Eden, and grew up there and at the age of 18 she was married to Otto Lau of the same town. The couple lived in Brothertown where Mr. Lau operated a cheese factory until 1924, when they moved to their present farm near Harrison.
The funeral was held July 24, at 2 p.m. from the Schumacher undertaking parlor, with burial in the town of Schleswig. The Rev. Worthman of the Reformed church of Kiel officiated.
Besides her husband, ten children mourn the loss of their mother, Arno, Chester, Robert, Lester, Erwin, Lucille, Eugene, Doris, all at home, Mrs. Henry Wenzel, Lena; Mrs. Alex Bodinger, Stockbridge, eleven grandchildren; two brothers, Herman and John Ibe, town of Schleswig. Besides Mrs. Lucas, another child preceded their mother in death.
