FREDERICK A. BURTON
Pelham, N.H. - Frederick A. Burton, a resident of Pelham, N.H. for over half a century, died late yesterday afternoon at his home on Sherburne road after a brief illness, ages 74 years, 5 months and 29 days. He was born in Newport, VT., the son of Thomas and Betsy (Barry) Burton, but settled in Pelham during his youth. Mr. Burton devoted his lifetime to farming.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. C. Adelbert Bell and Mrs. Frank E. Cobleigh, both of Tyngsboro; Mrs. James P. Kiernan of Collinsville, Dracut, and Miss Mable E. Burton, with whom he made his home; four sons, Walter S. Burton of this town, George F. Burton of Concord, N.H., and Ervin J., and Carles E. Burton, both of Hudson, N.H.; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Donadio of Worcester; one brother, Walter Thayer of Manchester, N.H.; an aunt, with whom he lived during his childhood, Mrs. Benjamin Beal of Chelmsford; 35 grandchildren, four of whom are in the armed services; six great-grandchildren and one nephew.

Mr. Burton was a member of the Pelham Congregational church and an honorary member of the Pelham Grange, No. 244.

BURTON - Died in Pelham, N.H., May 25, at his home on Sherburne road, Frederick A. Burton, aged 74 years. Fiends may call at his home. Services at the Pelham Congregational church, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Friends invited. Funeral Director Robert T. Morse.

Pelham, N.H. - Funeral services for Frederick A. Burton, of Sherburne road, were held at the Pelham Congregational church yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock and were largely attended by relatives, friends and fraternal associates. Rev. Ralph J. Hoffman, pastor of the church, officiated. Miss Bernice Moulton was organist. There were many flowers.

Pelham Grange, No. 244 was represented by Daniel S. Atwood, master; Ernest Q. Bigelowe, lecturer; Charles W. Hobbs, Mrs. Alice Raymond, Mrs. Alvina Spaulding, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Sherburne, Carl M. Mansfield, Mrs. Frank Foisle, Mrs. Lucy L. Koehler, Mrs. Daniel S. Atwood, Mrs. Ralph Hoffman, Miss Hazel Spaulding, Miss Helen M. Morris and Fred Houle. Chairman Bigelow and Mr. Hobbs also represented the Pelham board of selectmen. The town police department of which Mr. Burton was a member for over 25 years, was represented by the chief, Arthur H. Peabody. The bearers were Arthur B. Bell, Kenneth E. Burton, Maurice H. Cobleigh, Frederick A. Houle, G. A. Bell and R. J. Ouellette. Burial took place in the family lot in Pelham Center cemetery, where committal prayers were read by Rev. Mr. Hoffman. Arrangements were in charge of Daniel S. Atwood, under the direction of Funeral Director Robert T. Morse.
