Reburial services for Pvt. Edmund Hoefler, son of Edward Hoefler, route 1, New Holstein, were held Saturday morning at St. Ann's Catholic church at St. Ann. The Rev. Clemens Kern read the requiem mass and also officiated at the grave.

Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church. Pvt. Hoefler died May 29, 1945, at Davaa Mindmaro. He was 20 years old at the time of his death. Pallbearers were members of the Kiel American Legion. The firing squad consisted of members of the New Holstein American Legion. The Legionnaires and service men at St. Ann attended the funeral services in a body. The Holy Name society of St. Ann's parish also attended the services, and with the Legionnaires escorted the remains to the church and the cemetery.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hoefler, the deceased was born April 21, 1925, in the town of New Holstein. He attended St. Ann's parochial school and spent his entire lifetime prior to induction working on the farm for his father.

He was inducted into the army Nov. 27, 1944. He received his training at Camp Robinson, Ark. He fought in the Third Battalion, 19th Infantry. He received a furlough March 19, 1945, and left for overseas April 2, 1945. He was lost in action May 29, 1945.

Survivors are his father, five brothers, Joseph of New Holstein, Herbert, George, Lester and Edward, Jr. at home, and four sisters, Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) Koening of New Holstein, Mrs. Ellsworth (Veronica) Buchman of Kiel, Mrs. Ervin (Lucille) Koening of Newton, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Grube of Kiel. His mother preceded him in death.

Among those coming from away to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. William Willingahns of Wauwatosa; Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Schilling, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hartman, Mr. and Mrs. William Nottling, Mr. and Mrs. John Nottling, Mr. and Mrs. John Hartman and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Nottling, of Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Grabinger and Mr. and Mrs. Sylvin Kluhr of Random Lake; Mr. and Mrs. William Moritz and Miss Marie Wagner of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. John Wagner of Manitowoc; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wagner and Mr. and Mrs. Steven Wagner of St. Nazianz, and many others from Kiel, New Holstein and Elkhart Lake.
