Mrs. Jane M. Sanders, age 82, for many years a well-known and much esteemed citizen of Shelbyville, died at four o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. H. Terhune, 26 E. Pennsylvania Street.
Death was due to a complication of diseases.
Mrs. Sanders was born in Franklin County, March 12, 1844. She was married to John Sanders November 30, 1865. For many years she had been a loyal member of the First Methodist church and was loved and respected by a wide variety of friends.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Watson Ellingworth, of Bloomington, Ind., Mrs. Jack Abernathy of Peru, Mrs. Will Cossairt and Mrs. W.H. Terhune of this city, two sons Homer and Perce Sanders, both of this city, a sister Mrs. Will Ice and a brother, H. B. DuBois, of Alton, Ill. Another daughter, Miss Maude Sanders died January 5.
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Terhune in charge of the Rev. L. T. Freeland, pastor of the First M.E. church. Interment will be in the Forest Hill cemetery in charge of Charles M. Ewing.
(NOTE: Although the article states that Jane's daughter was Mrs. W H Terhune, it is actually W. R. Terhune.)
