Lived in San Antonio, Texas all his life, except for the last six months. He lived with his daughter in Houston, Texas.
Growing up he was called "Edwin", because his father was named James also. Even after his father's death older members of the family continued to call him "Edwin".

Edwin was a 1935 graduate of Brackenridge High School in San Antonio.
He married his high school sweetheart Ruth Eileen McKay on November 8, 1940; at Southside Christian Church. They had one child: Kathryn Eileen(1958-).

OCCUPATIONS:
1934-1940 worked at the San Antonio Produce Terminal as a truck driver delivering produce.
1940-1946 Civil Service at Brooks AFB, at the Delivery Depot.
1946-1953 San Antonio Transit Authority (now VIA) drove a city bus.
1953-1978 Braniff Airways later known as Braniff International as chief mechanic. He was #2 seniority-wise when he retired.
1982-1990 NEISD as a school bus driver.

Charter member of Alamo Heights Christian Church in San Antonio. Where he served as an Elder for many years. He also held many positions on the church board. After his retirement from Braniff he became chairman of the Buildings and Grounds committee. He was also an Elder Emeritus.

He was a life-time member of the Masonic Lodge: Bluebonnet 1219 AF&AM. He was master of the lodge in 1962-1963. After his retirement from Braniff he continued to be active in his lodge helping the younger members studying on their degree work.
He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star San Antonio Chapter #3. He served as Worthy Patron in 1963 with Joy Hanson(Hansen) as his Worthy Matron.

He loved sports; mainly football, baseball and golf. He played golf into his seventies with his daughter. His favorite teams were: Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnatti Reds, and Philadelphia Phillys.
His hobbies were: Fishing, Camping and traveling. He traveled over most of the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Siblings: Bertha(1916-1917), George Clinton(1919-1944), and Lucille(1924-2005).

Cause of Death: COPD, Emphysema, Congestive Heart Failure.
