John F. Meyer,76 of St. Nazianz, died Sunday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 9:15 am Wednesday at Christianson Funeral Home and at 9:30am at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. The Rev. Gregory Putzer will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Meyer was born Feb 25,1894, in Town of Eaton, Manitowoc County, son of the late Michael and Theresa Knier Meyer. He married Theckle Stein Sept 14,1927 at St.Fidelis Catholic Church, Town of Meeme. He farmed until his retirement 10 years ago and then moved to St. Nazianz. He was a lifelong member of St. Gregory Catholic Church and a member of the Holy Name Society.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Donald Schermetzler of Rt 1 Manitowoc,Mrs. Raymond Ostrenga of Rt 2 Green Bay, and Mrs. Ronald Zastrow of Kohler; two brothers, Math of Rt 1 Valders and Steve of Manitowoc; four sisters, Mrs. George Heimann of Rt 4 Chilton, Mrs Theresa Schad of Rt 2 Kiel, Mrs. Marie Stein of Rt 1 Kiel, and Mrs Opal Woelfel of New Holstein and 19 grandchildren.
Friends may call back at the funeral home after 4 oclock this Tuesday afternoon where a Rosary will be recited at 8:15 oclock.
