HERBERT BAITY
---Herbert Baity, the son of William and Frances E. Baity, was born November 8, 1877 near where the village of La Plata, Missouri now stands and died July 19, 1921, being at the time of his death, forty-three years, eight months and eleven days of age.
---He was married to Miss Florence Chadwick on December 26, 1893. To this happy union there was born one child, Mauretta Louise. Since their marriage the home has been in La Plata.
---Besides his wife and daughter and many other close relatives, Mrs. Baity leaves to mourn him, four sisters and five brothers. The sisters are Mrs. W.B. Bragg, La Plata, Mrs. N.L. Vanderlip, Dows, Iowa, Mrs. Emma Johnson, Saratoga, Washington and Mrs. R.P. Doneghy of Kirksville, Missouri. The brothers are Dr. George P. of Kansas City, John E. of La Plata, James L., Washington, D.C., Frank M. Colorado Springs, Colorado and Harry of Beaumont, Texas.
---Mr. Baity united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of La Plata in the year 1894. He has since been a very devoted member, loyal to the interest of the church of his choice. He was a faithful member of the Sabbath School ever giving the interest of the church a high place in the counsels for his live.
---He was a member of the I.O.O.F., bringing not only the subordinate lodge, but to the encampment as well. Also he was a member of the Modern Brotherhood of America.
---Funeral services were conducted from the residence July 21, 1921 by the pastor of the Community Presbyterian Church, Rev. E.E. DeLong. A quartet of the church choir gave two beautiful selections. On account of a brother arriving late, interment in La Plata cemetery will be July 22.
