Leonard was the son of William Loyd Snibley and Della Gertrude Hanawalt. His father left the family when Leonard was five years of age. He was raised by his mother's sister Harriet and Floyd Patterson. He attended USC Davis and majored in animal husbandry.

Leonard married Lorraine Iola Northcott on May 8, 1940 in Las Vegas, NV. She was the daughter of Leonard Legrande Northcott and Myrtle Dove (Kingsland). To this union four children were born; Leonard, Gerald, Myrna, and Kathleen.

Leonard was a small man of stature with a big heart and an even bigger sense of fun and humor. He was kind, quiet, and patient. He is also the only man I ever knew who ate one pea at a time *smile*. Leonard worked for Getty Oil Co. in the fields as a heavy duty mechanic for 38 years and was a member of the Oil Workers Union Local 120. After the death of his daughter Myrna, he and wife Lorraine raised, cared for, and loved Myrna's two children.

Leonard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. We miss him greatly. He is buried with his wife.
