Obituary

William T. Griffith, prominent Poolesville district resident, died yesterday at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Charles T. Pyles, at Hancock, Md. He was 75 years old. His death was due to a malignant internal trouble, and followed a long illness.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Griffith, formerly a Miss Dade of Jefferson, Frederick County; a son, C. Dade Griffith, of Rockville, and a daughter, Mrs. Pyles.

The funeral took place at 11 a.m. today from the Poolesville M. E. Church South, the pastor, Rev. W. D. King, conducting the services. Burial was in Monocacy Cemetery at Beallsville.

Mr. Griffith was a son of the late Howard Griffith, and was a lifelong resident of the Beallsville neighborhood. Until a few years ago, when he sold his farm near Beallsville, he had long been engaged in farming and cattle dealing. He was a director of the Montgomery county National Bank of Rockville and a director of the Poolesville branch of the Central Trust Co. of Maryland, formerly the Poolesville National Bank. He was a brother of Charles G. Griffith of near Rockville.
