Glen Tierce was born on a family farm at Carbon Hill, Walker County, Alabama on June 17, 1912. He was one of at least five children born to William Richard Tierce (1884-1958) and Eva Myrtle Williams (1893-1964). Glen was the eldest son. His younger siblings were William Carl, Lloyd, and Stanley Albert. The family moved to Simpson, McIntosh Co., Oklahoma and were renting a farm there in 1930. Glen married Minnie Lee Brown at Eufaula, McIntosh County, Oklahoma on Dec 21, 1932. In 1935 [per their 1940 Census], they lived in rural Atoka County, Oklahoma, but then relocated to South Harrisburg, Linn County, Oregon where they farmed the land. His brother, Stanley, lived with Glen and Minnie, working as a Laborer when the 1940 Census was taken on May 7th. Glen took up farming quite successfully; He and Minnie had two daughters, Glenda Kathleen, b.1935, and Brenda Joyce "Joy", b.1943. Glen purchased a farm in Turner, Marion County, raising a variety of different crops on land throughout the Aumsville area. Their daughters, Glenda and Joy, grew up, married and had children of their own. Glenda had three children, Terry, Mickey and Janet. Joy also had children. Glen was a very kind, honest and gentle man who adored his daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a religious man and very devoted to his wife and family. It was with deep sadness to all who knew him that he died on June 30, 1976 from a heart attack, and his wife never recovered from his passing. Of interest, one of his 1st cousins, Eldred Tierce, married Mary Luella Brown, one of his wife's sisters. I know Glen and Minnie are together in Paradise now and forever more.

I married their grandson, Terry Wayne Blair, on 29 Dec 1970. We had a child, Anthony, in Jan 1972, who they adored. They were always very kind to me.
