Clinton Robert Williams, son of John and Mary Shull Williams was born near Cuba, Kansas in Republic County on October 6, 1888, and departed this life at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bernard Walden near Richland, Kan., on July 7, 1956 at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 1 day. In his early boyhood, he moved with his family to a farm near Haddam.
On January 13, 1909, he was united in marriage to Blanche V. Lesher. To this union three daughters were born. They are Mrs. Eleanor Walden, Richland , Kan., Mrs. Irva Woodard, Skykomish, Wash., and Mrs. Betty Teeter, Courtland, Kan. They lived on farms near Haddam until 1929, when they moved to Haddam, where he spent the remainder of his life.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Blanche, three daughters; three sons-in-law; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Belle Hatch, Santa Ana, Cal., Mrs. Vina Hinman, Belleville, Kan., Mrs. Alice Clark, Towanda, Kan.; a host of nieces and nephews and many friends. Four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at the Haddam Methodist church on Tuesday, July 10 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. J. Holland Vernon officiating. Interment was in the Haddam cemetery.
