WILLIAM KELLER OF CARPIO PASSED AWAY
POPULAR WARD COUNTY YOUNG MAN DIED ON TRAIN NEAR RAY ENROUTE HOME FROM THE WEST WHERE HE SOUGHT TO REGAIN HIS HEALTH.
William Keller, the 20 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Keller, pioneer residents of Ward county, passed away on August 28th. He had been in poor health since February. Then he underwent an operation and had his right limb amputated.
He recovered rapidly, however, and was in good health until August 1st. Then he was again taken to the Kenmare hospital but was unable to receive any further help there.
He then left for Spokane, accompanied by his mother on August 21st, as a last hope of regaining his health.
Unable to receive help from the specialist there, he returned and died on Highway No. 2 near Ray, N.D.
His remains were embalmed at Ray and shipped to his home.
Everything possible was done to win him back to health and strength but it was impossible. He suffered patiently until the last.
He was of a cheerful disposition and was loved by all who knew him.
Besides his father and mother he leaves to mourn his loss one brother and seven sisters, namely; Mrs. Wm. Bloms of Carpio, ND, Mrs. J.C. Bloms of Carpio; John M. Keller of Carpio; Miss Mary Keller of Carpio; Mrs. H.J. Schmitz of Harlem, Mont. and Cecelia, Irene and Adeline, his younger sisters and also a host of other relations and friends.
The funeral took place at St. Henry's Catholic church on Aug. 31 at 10 a.m., Rev. A.J. Mittereder of Foxholm officiating.
