Mrs. Nettie Griner Sutton, 77, wife of the late W.D. Sutton of Toombs County died in a Savannah hospital Saturday night.
She had been carried to the hospital early Thursday morning for treatment of a broken hip, suffered in a fall at her home in the Marvin-Yancey Community late last Wednesday afternoon.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Inman Creek Church with Elder Wiley Lynn of Collins officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Trapnell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include four sons, W.C. and W.F. Sutton, of Lyons, J.C. and Leroy Sutton of Jacksonville, Fla.; five daughters, Mrs. W.L. Durden and Miss Johnnie Will Sutton, of Savannah, Mrs. David F. McGuire, Jacksonville, Miss Gladys Sutton, Lyons, and Mrs. Alma Mann, Atlanta; 2 brothers, Bud Griner, Savannah, and Buck Griner, Claxton; five sisters, Mrs. J.H. Blalock, Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. B.E. Dasher, Claxton, Mrs. W.L. Weathers, Savannah, and Mrs. Fred Dyess and Mrs. Willie Dyess, both of Glennville.
Mrs. Sutton was the daughter of the late Josh and Abbie Beasley Griner of Tattnall County. She was a member of the Inman Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
