Born in Bulloch County, he had lived in Toombs County most of his life. He was a veteran of World War I and a retired employee of the Lyons Post Office.
He is survived by two sons: William C. Sutton, Jr. of Savannah and Sidney A. Sutton of Boydton, Va.; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild; one brother: Fred Sutton of Lyons; four sisters: Mrs. Alma Mann and Mrs. Roby McGuire of Jacksonville, Fla., Miss Gladys Sutton and Mrs. Johnnie Will Dutton, both of Lyons; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the family lot in the Lyons City Cemetery. Rev. Larry Rowell officiated.
Trapnell-Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
