Mrs. Ella C. Tess, 87, Kewaunee, died Wednesday at a Kewaunee hospital. She was born September 18, 1897 in West Kewaunee to the late August and Caroline (Broecker) Nimmer. She farmed all of her life in West Kewaunee until retiring in 1967.

Mrs. Tess was a member of the Ladies Aide of St. Peter Church. On May 10, 1916 she married John C. Tess at St. Peter Church, Town of Carlton. He preceded her in death August 5, 1955.

Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Gilbert, Milwaukee; Gerhart and Grace, Two Rivers; Roland and Marian, Kiel; John and Marie, Michicot; four daughters and sons-in-law, Erna and John Seidl, Pearl and Myron Brusky, and Joyce and Alvin Shimanek, all of Kewaunee; one daughter-in-law, June Tess, San Dimes, Calif.; 32 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sisters-in-law, Arthur Nimmer, Kaukauna, Alden and Florence Nimmer, Kewaunee; one sisters-in-law, Mrs. Marion Nimmer, Kaukauna.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Edwin and Orville; one daughter-in-law, LaVerne Tess; two grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters.

Friends may call at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee, after 3 p.m. Friday. Funeral 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Town of Carlton, with the Rev. Ronald Szep officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
