He was born August 11, 1907 in Heber City to Robert David and Sarah Fausett Young.
He married Mariam Ivie Young, March 1, 1930 in Fruitland. She died October 15, 1996.
He loved to work, his whole life was farming and his livestock which he enjoyed doing with his boys. he took pride in irrigating and was skilled at it. He loved to fish. When the family lived in Fruitland, they were friends with the outlaw Bub Meeks, who knew he could find some refuge and a good meal with the Youngs.
He is survived by four sons, Bert C. (Velda) Young, Tabiona; Robert Dean (Gayle) Young, Lanny Ross (Cheryl "Bunny") Young and Stan Earl (Suzanne) Young, all of Duchesne; 17 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; also, two brothers and two sisters, R. W. "Dude" Young, Duchesne; Paul Young, Fruitland; Elva Humes, American Fork; Mildred Muir, Fruitland.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Lamont E. Young and Jerry Leon Young, brother, John Young, sister, LaVerna Casper, 1 granddaughter, and two great grandsons.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. at the Duchesne LDS Third Ward Chapel where friends may call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Burial in the Fruitland Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Hullinger-Olpin Mortuary.
