Henry Lee Shear, 91, of Minford, died Sunday, July 21, 1996, at home.
Born Feb. 11, 1905, in Madison Township, Scioto County, a son of the late Sampson Wesley Shear and Emma
Catherine Shoemaker Shear, he was a machinist helper with Norfolk & Western Railway Company retiring in 1970
with 42 years of service, a charter member and former captain of the Minford Volunteer Fire Department retiring in 1966 with 20 years of service, a greeter with Erwin-Dodson Funeral Home for 25 years, a former member of International Association of Machinist and of the Free Will Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Edith W. Cooper Shear; two step-daughters, Betty Armstrong of Berry, Ky., and Juanita
Hughes of Midwest City, Okla.; 12 grand-children; and several great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. Interment in Bennett Cemetery.
