Jimmie Bergeron
Funeral servives were held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 3 p.m. Wednesday for Jimmie Bergeron, who was a 36 year old veteran of World War II. Burial was in St. Paul's Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin's Funeral Home. Survivors are his wife, the former Effie Blanchard, four children: Alida (10), Diana Rose (9),Larry Joseph (6), and Michael Douglas (2). His parents, Theophile & Armide (Miller) Bergeron of Eunice, La.,seven brothers, William Joseph of Ritchie, Felix of Lake Charles, Philip of Jennings, Raymond & Edward of Tepetate, Will Curtis & Lawrence Allen of Eunice. One sister Mary (Bergeron) Manuel. Married to Linus Manuel of Oberlin.
Jimmie had been ill for one month. A native of Eunice he and Effie lived in Opelousas for the past three years.

Paternal Grandparents: Joseph & Felicite Aureline (Roy/Roi) Bergeron, Sr.
Maternal Grandparents: Augustine & Louise (Sonnier) Miller

Jimmie in World War II during 1944 for 3 or 4 mths. Released on a medical discharge. Serving in 77 Infantry Training Brigade in Little Rock, Arkansas. Jimmie worked for Gulf States Utilities

To our wonderful & still beautiful Aunt Effie we send our love. She is still with us today by the gift of God. She was age 90 on Dec. 12, 2010. Always happily greeting you with her big smile. What an inspiration she is to all of us.
