Herald Coaster, September 15, 2000:

Funeral services for Frieda Duesterhoft Engelhardt, 100, of Rosenberg, were held at noon Friday, Sept. 15, at the First Baptist Church in Richmond, with Dr. John Lockhart officiating. Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Danny, Bobby, and David Slavinski, Robert and Teddy Engelhardt, and Dennis Koteras. Larry Engelhardt served as an honorary pallbearer.

Mrs. Engelhardt died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at the Fort Bend Healthcare Center. She was born July 18, 1900 in Round Top. Her parents were Fritz and Matilda Duesterhoft. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and she loved gardening and being outdoors. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richmond.

She is survived by her daughters, Alma Lee Slavinski, Virgie Koteras and her husband, Alfred, and Mattie Bell Legler, all of Richmond; one son, Wilbert Engelhardt and his wife, Bertha, of East Bernard; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Selma Eversole of Needville; and sisters-in-law, Ella Duesterhoft of Needville and Laura Duesterhoft of Deridder, La.

Mrs. Engelhardt was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Engelhardt; her sons, Lee Roy and Clarence Engelhardt; a daughter, Janie Koteras; sons-in-law, Freeman Koteras, Bernard Legler, and Max Slavinski; grandsons, Herman Drew Engelhardt and Roy Gene Engelhardt; great-great-grandson, J.T. Greenwald; brothers, William, Henry, Ernest, and L.D. Duesterhoft; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Elsa and Rudolph Roesler, Mattie and Charlie Schodek, Lillie and John Kueck; and Alma Perkins.
