Rosenberg Herald, September 26, 1957:

Funeral services were held Friday from the E&R Church, Needville for Mrs. Matilda Kagler Duesterhoft, 81, with Rev. Edwin Berger officiating.

Mrs. Duesterhoft was born in Greenvine, Washington County in 1876 and married Fredrick Duesterhoft in 1896. She had been a resident of Fort Bend County for 46 years.

She is survived by her husband, Fredrick of Needville; six daughters, Mrs. Elsie Roesler, Needville, Mrs. Lillie Kneck, Needville, Mrs. Freda Engelhardt, Richmond, Mrs. Mattie Schodek, Richmond, Mrs. Selma Eversole and Mrs. Alma Perkins, both of Lake Jackson; four sons, Henry of Needville, William of Damon, Ernest of Freeport, and Eddie of Richmond; one sister, Mrs. Emma Little of Quanah; one brother, Fritz Kagler of Tacoma, Wash., twenty grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons. Interment was held in the Needville Public Cemetery under the direction of Garmany-Janca Funeral Home.
