Mr. Ethridge was born near Andrews on June 5, 1918, a son of the late Robert John Ethridge and Sarah Ann Taylor Ethridge.
Mr. Ethridge was an Army veteran of World War II. He lived in Georgetown County near Andrews most of his life. He was an electrician and had retired from Oneita Industries.
He was survived by his wife, Lois Glisson Ethridge of Andrews; a sister, Thelma E. Ray of Andrews; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Patsy Gail Ethridge.
The funeral, officiated by the Rev. Murray W. Powell, was Tuesday, August 24, 2004, in the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
Burial, directed by Mayer Funeral Home, followed in Piney Forest Cemetery.
