Audie Mae M. Eller Richardson, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 1970 at the Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Virginia. She was born is Ashe County, North Carolina on September 14, l897. Her family moved to Smyth County, Cleghorn Valley, when she was a child. She married Roby John Franklin Richardson on December 22, 1915. They made their home in the Stoney Battery Community.

She was the daughter of America Murkey Taylor and William M. Willie Eller. Her grandparents were David Eller and Marilda S. Cox; William C. Hoody Hude Taylor and Martha Caroline Bentley Stevens all of Ashe County.

Mommy, as she was affectionately called by her children was preceded in death by her husband, Roby John Franklin Richardson in 1957; a daughter, Della Irene Cleary; two sons, Herman Edward Richardson; Sebern Willis Richardson; a sister Maude E. Murray; three brothers, Charlie Eller, Claude Eller, Jake Eller. She was a kind, loving mother and grandmother. She faithfully attended the Independent Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by five daughters, Margaret (Wesley) Lowman of Bel Air, Maryland; Mintie (Victor) Neitch, Chilhowie, Virginia; Ruby (James) Ferguson, Elizabethton, Tennessee; Miss Shirley M. Richardson, Marion, Virginia; Maudie (Garland) Medley, Sugar Grove, Virginia. Three sons, Luther John (Madalene) Richardson, Port Deposit, Maryland; Roger Elmer (Peggy) Richardson, Bel Air, Maryland; Major Bane (Ethel) Richardson, California. Three sisters, Callie May Anderson of Chilhowie; Mary Yeazell and Martha Alice Burkhart of Springfield, Ohio. Three brothers, John Eller, Rock, W. Virginia; Albert Lee Eller and William Clarence Eller of Chilhowie, Virginia. 43 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Services were held in the South Fork Baptist Church, the Holston Mills Community. Services were conducted by the Rev. Sherman Dempsey, the Rev. Billy Dean and the Rev. Lee Howell. She was laid to rest beside her husband and son in the South Fork Cemetery.
