The only son of Thomas Lassiter Warters (1863-1938)and Willie Mae (Gholson) Warters (1873-1938), he had five sisters, Agnes, Jane, Mary, Ruth, and Willie Louise. Raised in Rome, Georgia, he attended and graduated from Shorter College, now Shorter University. He was the husband of Bernice (Donnell) Warters, (1911-1986), and the Father of Dr. Thomas Donald Warters and Raymond Warters. He and his family lived in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia, where he worked for the Telephone industry as an Accountant until he retired. He was also a Grandfather. He is buried with his parents and many of his sisters at the Fairview Cemetery in LaGrange, Lenoir County, North Carolina. Bernice died from colon cancer and was buried in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia in 1986. I learned this thanks to a new member to the Find A Grave community who is also related to her (and me!) and now feel relieved and grateful to know what happened to my father's aunt. May she and Thomas Rest, at Peace, together in Heaven.
They were my Great Uncle and Aunt on my father's side. My grandmother, Ruth Warters Webb, is the sister of Thomas Warters.
