Bernett “Bea” Alma Lorfeld, age 89, a Valders resident, entered eternal life on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Bea was born on July 11, 1927 in the farm house on the Matthias homestead farm in the town of Liberty, Manitowoc County, youngest of the children. She was the daughter of the late William and Marie Clasen Matthias. Bea was baptized on July 24, 1927, confirmed on August 6, 1941 and was a life-long member at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in the town of Liberty. She was a graduate of Valders High School with the class of 1945. Bea had been employed at Mirro Aluminum in the main office as a bookkeeper. She later was employed as the head bookkeeper for 26 years at Northern Wisconsin Produce Company for the Lindemann’s. Years of happily married life started at a dance at Tourist Inn, Cleveland, Wisconsin with Robert V. Lorfeld who Bea married on May 26, 1951 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1988. She enjoyed knitting for her family and also knitted and donated her items to the veterans at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home at King, Wisconsin. Bea also enjoyed writing poems, something she did her entire lifetime. Bea was a strong but gentle woman who spent her life living her faith and loving her family.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Thomas and Debra Lorfeld, Madison, WI; four daughters and sons-in-law: Mary and Dewane Scheidt, Fond du Lac, WI; Nola and Paul Mix, Menasha, WI; Grace and Michael Sebo, Schofield, WI; Nancy and Leo Egbert, Colorado Springs, CO; thirteen grandchildren: Katrina Lorfeld, Matthew (Jane) Lorfeld, Dathan Scheidt, Melissa (Mark) Scofield, Derek (Connie) Scheidt, Dana Dombrowski and her fiance’Brian MaGaw, Tyler (Amanda) Schuh, Desire’e (Derrick) Terrell, Joshua (Karmen) Egbert, Jacob Egbert, Spencer Sebo, Brady Sebo, Dylan Sebo; one step granddaughter: Sandy (Mark) Campbell; twenty great grandchildren: Skyanne, Arianna, Marissa, Cayden, Jacob, Devin, Alex, Nick, Stella, Tatum, Scout, Tyler, Ava, Everett, Kayla, Zachary, Jaxson, Kaidyn, Keegan, and Kennedy; one sister: Eline Glaeser, Manitowoc; four sisters-in-law: Janet Matthias, Elaine Sieker, Delores Buechel, Lillian Lorfeld; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Marie Matthias; husband: Robert; three brothers: Arland (Irene) Matthias, Vilas (Gladys) Matthias, and Edward Matthias; one sister: Lorraine (Armin) Ewald; five brothers-in-law: Robert Glaeser, Edward (Mildred) Lorfeld, Vincent Sieker, Willard Buechel, Glen Lorfeld; one sister-in-law: Marjorie (Elwood) Krueger.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 11303 Wehausen Road, Manitowoc, with Rev. Gregory Pope officiating. Burial will take place at the Saxon Cemetery, town of Centerville.
