Mr. Haupt was born December 14, 1896 in the Town of Newton, son of the late August and Bertha Vogt Haupt. He was a lifelong Town of Newton resident. He married the former Elsie C. Kolb on October 9, 1949 in the Town of Newton. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Haupt was active as a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of the Carpenters Local.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie C.; a son and a daughter-in-law, Hubert and Marian Haupt of Manitowoc; two daughters and a son-in-law, Verna and Bud Liermann of Manitowoc and Ethel Rusch of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Sanger, a granddaughter, Annette; two sons-in-law, Verlin and Darrell; six brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 5 pm to 9 pm Sunday afternoon and Monday at the church from 10 am until the hour of service.
