Tolly O. Rogers, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. (sic L.) Rogers, was born at Powersville, Mo., October 8, 1885, died in Barnabas hospital in Salina, Kansas, Feb. 3, 1918, age 32 years, 3 mo. 25 days.

With his parents he came to Kansas in 1903, where he has since resided.

In 1907 he was united in marriage to Bertha Towns. To this union were born 4 children, 2 boys, Irvin aged 8 and Doyle aged 2 and one half years, 2 girls, Isal aged 10 and Doris 10 mo., all of which are living.

He leaves to mourn his death, wife, 4 children, parents, 1 bro., Loren and a large number of relatives and sympathizing friends.

One brother, Bert, preceded him to the life beyond. The death of these two brothers are strikingly similar and singular. Both died on Sunday night, Bert on Sunday night at 10 o'clock of Jan. 10, 1915 and Tolly, Sunday night at 8:30 of Feb. 3, 1918. Both died from the effects of a surgical operation and both died at the same age 32 years, only 1 mo. and 12 days difference in their age at death.

Thus in the passing from the community we are called upon to mourn the loss of a young man of sterling qualities and one of whom it can be truthfully said "he was loved by all who knew him."

He was a faithful and obedient son, who never returned a word for and reproof from his parents, a devoted husband and loving father and a kind and obliging neighbor. We do not understand the providence, which has removed this young life from our midst but we do know that we can trust "Him who doeth all things well: and await God, a good time when we shall meet with Him, where all mysteries of His wisdom will be made plain to us.

The funeral was held at the M. E. church at Palco Wed., conducted by Rev. Cook assisted by Rev. Hughes and interment made in the Pleasant View cemetery.
