Frances Louise "Wink" (Hatstat) Jennings, 84, of 303 Ponakin Rd. died Monday, September 12, 2011 at home, surrounded by her family. Her husband, Richard Jennings, died in 13 Feb 1981.

She leaves three sons: Gregory Jennings and his wife, Karen, of Biddeford, ME, Gary Jennings of Lancaster, Glen Jennings and his wife, Karen Jennings, of Athol; a daughter, Gayle Jennings-Poitras and her husband, Steven, of Leominster; seven grandchildren: Jonathan Jennings, Matthew Jennings and his wife, Becki, Ryan Jennings and Kristy Jennings, Joel Canfield and his wife, Gina, Brittany Joyce and her husband, Patrick, and MaRyea; six great-grandchildren: Chase, Cody, Jackson, Maggie, Abigail, and Scarlett; two brothers: Bill and David Hatstat, both of Clinton; two sisters: Dorice Charon of Leominster and Helen Schmidt of Clinton; many nieces and nephews.

The daughter of Fredrick Warren and Helen Louise (Whitney) Hatstat, Frances was born in Hubbardston on January 5, 1927, in the same house where her father had been born. She was raised in Lancaster and attended local schools.

In addition to being a mother of four children, Frances worked for many years alongside her husband, Richard, at Jennings Garage in Clinton, as bookkeeper and office manager. She volunteered her time as a Girl Scout Leader, and also as Den Mother for her sons' troop. In her earlier years, Frances worked manufacturing parachutes for the United States Military. She later became a nurses aide and worked at River Terrace Healthcare Center in Lancaster, and also assisting disabled individuals in the community. She was a member of the United Church of Clinton. She enjoyed crocheting prayer shawls for her church, throughout the years.

Above all, her greatest achievement was her selfless and steadfast devotion to her family and friends. She was a most loving, caring, and compassionate woman and will forever be missed.



Frances's funeral will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 with a service at 10:00 a.m. in the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton.

Burial is private, family members only. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Sept., 14, 2011 from 5 - 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Flowers may be sent, or donations made in memory of Frances, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
