Anton Babler

Anton Babler, 91, Maplewood, died at his home Sunday morning of old age complications. He had been ill for the past few months.
He was born in the town of Forestville April 19, 1873 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ferdidnand Babler. He had farmed in the area his entire life and was now retired.
Well known as a dancer he had danced on TV on his 89th birthday.
He was a member of the Holy Name Society of Maplewood.
Sept. 27, 1899 he married Mary Bretl at Maplewood and she died Oct. 23, 1927.
Survivors include five sons, Clem, Tony and Alois of Green Bay, Ray, Maplewood, and Frank, Two Rivers; two daughters, Mrs. Wendelin (Helen) Rose, Maplewood, and Mrs. Joseph (Adeline) Gorenz, Sheboygan; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three brothers, John, Plymouth, Leo, Milwaukee, and Jake, Green Bay; three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Hattie) Zettel, Maplewood, and Miss Christine Babler and Mrs. Isabel Gilkerson, both of Milwaukee. One son, one daughter, two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the Stoneman funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rosary will be said there at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at the Stoneman funeral home at 10:15 a.m. at the Holy Name of Mary church, Maplewood. The Rev. Thomas Peeters will officiate and burial will be the parish cemetery.
