Emil C. Dehne Jr., 46, of 2000 Johnston Dr., Manitowoc, died Wednesday at Veterans Hospital, Wood, Wis. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Paul H. Blaufuss will officiate and burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Town of Centerville. Military graveside services will be accorded Mr. Dehne by Amvets Post No. 99 of Manitowoc.
Mr. Dehne was born April 13, 1928, at Manitowoc, son of Emil and Alma Steffen Dehne. He attended German Lutheran School and Manitowoc Vocational School. He entered the U.S. military service Nov. 9, 1945, serving in the U.S. Navy and .S. Army for a total of 22 years, retiring Oc.t 28, 1971. He was an honor graduate of the U.S. Army Engineer Ordnance School and served three tours of duty both in Korea and Vietnam, attaining the rank of sergeant E7. His decorations included the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service and Campaign medals, the Korean Service and Campaign medals and U.N. Service Medal.
Survivors include his father, Emil H. Dehne, Sr., and his mother, Mrs. Alma LaRock, of Manitowoc; a brother, (private); three sisters, (private); and nieces and nephews.Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday prior to the time of service.
