Gonzales Inquirer Sep. 1930.
Fall From Hospital Kills Gonzalian.
Felix Chenault was Former Resident of Gonzales Co.
San Antonio Sep. 13.-(UP)-Felix Chenault, died here early today from injuries received when he fell three stories from a window of the county hospital. Felix Chenault, former Gonzales boy, had lived in San Antonio for some months, moving there with his family. The end came at 2 a.m.in a San Antonio hospital where he had been taken for
treatment preparatory to undergoing an operation as he had been in ill health for years.

Surviving him are his wife, formally Miss Maggie Radigan, of this city, one son, two daughters, his mother, Mrs. Sophie Chenault of this city, and a twin sister, Mrs. Robert Kyle, of El Paso, besides other relatives. Mrs. Chenault belongs to an old pioneer family of this section, his grandfather having been a prominent county official here years ago. Mr. Chenault was a son of the late Jim Chenault of this city. He was born and reared here most of his life. A man of fine principals irreproachable character, he enjoyed the respect and esteem of everyone that knew him. For years he had been a member of the First Methodist Church of this city and was an interested Christian worker striving to serve the Lord, A man devoted to his family, and an upright citizen. The news of his passing will be received with sincere regret by all that knew him and the warm sympathy of the community goes out to his loved ones in this hour.

Funeral arrangements were completed this afternoon. The remains will arrive in Gonzales Sunday over the South Pacific and be taken to the Chapel of Robertson and Seydler, undertakers. The funeral will take place Sunday ay 2:30 o'clock with interment in the City Cemetery.

Genealogy Notes: Even though his headstone, obit and several on-line family trees, give Felix's birth month as Jan., I'm not sure that is correct. He is not in the 1880 Census with his parents, plus in 1900 his birth information is given as born Dec 1880 which seems more realistic. Surely in 1880 his parents would have known if they had an infant son or not. :) And, he (or they) would have better known his birth information in 1900 as opposed to future generations remembering it in later years.
