Mr. Melvin F. Jayne age 73, of Vine Grove, Kentucky, died Wednesday, November 9, 1996 at Ireland Army Community Hospital, Ft.. Knox, Kentucky. He was born in Johnson County on November 24,1922, the son of the late Jesse and Edna Mae Jayne. Mr. Jayne was a retired supervisor for Louisville Gas and Electric Co., Muldraugh and an Army Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Darrell Jayne in 1968 Mr. Jayne is survived by his wife, Louella Jayne, three children: Danny Jayne, Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Diane Melvin, Vine Grove, Georgia, and Darlene; grandchildren: Rodney Jayne, Robin Goins, Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Chris Melvin, Kittery, Maine; and one sister, Pauline Adams, Paintsville, Kentucky. Funeral services for Mr. Jayne were held Sunday, November 17, 1996 at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of the ???, Paintsville, Kentucky with Rev. Eual McKenzie and Rev. Mike Blanton officiating. Visitation was held Friday, November 15, from 1 until 9 p.m. from the Hager Funeral Home and Saturday November 16, from 1 until 9 p.m. from the Paintsville Funeral Home. Burial took place in the Patty Flat Cemetery. Pallbearers were Danny Goins, Deanna Jayne, Rodney Jayne, Chris Melvin, Robin Goins, Jessee Lee and Ronnie Mayhan and Wilbur Burchett.
