LeRoy Ainsworth Hodson, age 95, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 1998, at the East Lake Care Center in Provo, Utah, the same city where he was born on June 29, 1903, the son of Israel William Hodson and Melinda Lucretia Singleton Hodson.
He married Iva Phillips of Springville on September 4, 1929, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Iva passed away on December 6, 1951 in Springville, Utah, after a lengthy illness.
He later married Iva's widowed sister, Lizzie Phillips Billings on August 3, 1959 in Salt Lake City.
She died October 31, 1976, after a lengthy illness.
LeRoy and Iva were the parents of six sons.
He is survived by all six sons and their spouses: Lloyd (Phyllis), Orem; Phillip (Maxine), Indianapolis, Indiana; Max (Renone), Cedar City; Wayne (Gayle), Salt Lake City; Morris (Ruth), Riverton; and Earl (Kathleen), Ephraim. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Two sisters: Rosemary (Earl) Nielsen and Mae (Melvin) Jensen.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Randy; sisters, Melva, Esmee; brothers, Kenneth and Harold, and also his parents.
Burial was October 5, 1998.
