CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y., June 23--James Monroe, 34 years old, a New York Central Railroad conductor, was found drowned in the Hudson River here today. He had fallen from an outboard motorboat Saturday night, while returning from a firemen's convention at Haverstraw. He lived on Dutch Street, Montrose.

On Jan 20, 2012, found out that James Alexander Monroe II was married to Mary, and that a son James Alexander Monroe III had been born just two weeks prior to his death.

**Historic note****

James Alexander Monroe, enlisted during World War II and served our country valiantly. He was injured over in Europe and was flown back home for medical treatment. While in the hospital, it was found that he had not become a Naturalized Citizen. So the United States government got the paperwork together and in his hospital bed, made him a United States Citizen.

At that time, his name was changed from James Alexander Monro, Jr. to James Alexander Monroe, Jr. thus "americanizing" the name Monro.
