Margaret T. "Peg" Kane, 88, Green Bay resident, died Tuesday afternoon, July 16, 2013, at a local nursing home. She was born October 5, 1924, in the Town of Morrison to the late William and Frances (Linsmeyer) Kane. Peg was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy in Green Bay. She married Henry "Bud" Kane on May 10, 1944 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Stark. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1968. She and Bud opened Kane's Bar in 1959. Following his death she continued to operate the bar until her retirement in 1989. Peg was a member at the YMCA, attended daily mass and was a rosary leader. She was very active in her parish, Holy Martyrs, and was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Altar Society and Christian Mothers. Peg was a volunteer coordinator for Room at the Inn, a member of the VFW Winiecki Post Auxilliary and a proud Green Bay Packer shareholder. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Community.

Peg became a widow at the age of 43 with eight children, six of whom were still at home. They are: Bill (Mary Ellen) Kane, Denmark; Terry (Mary) Kane, Green Bay; Karen Kane, Brown Deer; Patrick (Carol) Kane, Naples, FL; Colleen (Mike) Phillips; Kathy (Dave) Konop; Sherry (Jack) Rentmeester and Aimee (Jim) Rentmeester, all of Green Bay; 15 grandchilden: Kris (Frank), Kim (Paul), Shelley, Stacie (Jason), Brian (Janis), Julie (Saeed), Melissa, Brad (Amy), Jason (Meghann), Sheila (Nate), Craig, Andy, Renee, Lindsey and Shelby; 19 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Peg is further survived by Tina (Jim) Keon, who was her child without labor pains and a dear family friend, Sr. Laura Zelten.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters: an infant brother, John Kane; Katherine (Adolph) Herold; William (Hilda) Kane, Sr. Frances Kane, CSJ; Mary (Urby) Titulaer; Sr. Florence Kane, CSJ; Robert (Wilma) Kane and Lucille (Francis) Jauquet. She was further preceded by her in-laws: Thomas (Bernadine) Kane; Margaret (Tom) Scanlan; Kenneth (Mary) Kane; Sr. Mary Carmen Kane, CSJ and Sarah (Lloyd) Rasmussen.
