Mary married Urban C. Titulaer on January 4, 1941. Together they raised 12 children. She enjoyed knitting hats and slippers, and sewing for all the children. Over the years, Mary worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary's Hospital, Ledgeview Nursing Home, and the Odd Fellow Home. She was a faithful member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere for over 50 years. Prior to her death, Mary had been the oldest living member of the extended Kane family.
Surviving are 11 of her children and their spouses: Barbara Titulaer (wife of the late Dr. Richard Titulaer), Tom Titulaer, Mary (Leon) Scray, Alice (Lee) Roffers, Jean (Dick) Hutjens, Janet (Jim "Barney") McVey, Jerry Titulaer, Margo (Dick) Robertson, Mike (Janet) Titulaer, John (Debra) Titulaer, Dan Titulaer, and Theresa Bergner (special friend, Doug Walton). She is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Lucile (Francis) Jauquet, and Margaret "Peg" Kane.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Urban, on August 18, 2003; a son, Dr. Richard Titulaer; a grandson, Jered Hutjens; sisters: Katherine (Adolph) Herold, Sr. Frances Kane, Sr. Florence Kane; brothers: William (Hilda) Kane, Bob (Wilma) Kane; and brother-in-law, Henry "Bud" Kane.
Friends may call at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until time of mass. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating. Interment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
