Alma Jean Sutton Pullium, 76, of Sylva passed away at Medwest Harris Hospital on Friday, March 30, 2012.
A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. and Lila Turpin Sutton.
Funeral services will be held at Sylva First Baptist Church at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 2, 2012, with Reverend Dr. John Bunn and Reverend Dr. Bill Henderson officiating.
Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Ray Buchanan, Mike Buchanan, Matthew and Ryan Crawford, Stanley and David Sutton; honorary pallbearer, Curtis Lambert.
The family will receive friends 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Melton Funeral Home.
Alma was a former employee of John Edwards Dental Office and a member of Sylva First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey Buchanan and Lucille Lambert.
Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Edward James "EJ" Pullium; a son, Edward "Eddie" Anthony (Cheryl) Pullium of Franklin; four brothers, Hayes Sutton of Sylva, NC, Mack Sutton of Bryson City, NC, Perry and Huey Sutton of Dillsboro, NC; one grand-daughter, Sara Elizabeth Pullium, three step-grandchildren, Matthew Crawford, Ashley Crawford, Ryan Crawford.
