Isaac was the seventh child of Nehemiah and Sarah (Goodwin) Andrus. He married Martha Pelton the daughter of Jonathan and Elizabeth (Baker) Pelton on 7 Mar 1827. Isaac and Martha had four children: Mary Elizabeth, John, Isaac Jr. and Martha. Following his death Martha returned to the town where she grew up, Sangerfield, Oneida, NY.
