Denison was third child of Nehemiah and Phebe (Benham) Andrus. He married Huldah Andrews on 13 Oct 1793 in New Hartford. Huldah was the daughter of Ezra and Phebe Andrews and Denison's first cousin.
Denison and Huldah had 3 daughters and seven sons. Only five have been identified: Nehemiah, Dennis, William, Sarah and Norman.
Denison and his family probably moved to New Windsor, Orange Co. NY between 1800 and 1810. He joined his brothers Jared, Norman and Ira all of whom had moved to Orange County from New Hartford.
Dennis apparently moved to Goshen after 1850. His death notice was recorded in The Independent Republican on March 10, 1854 (Vol 21, No. 1054) where his name was given as Dennis Andruss recently of New Windsor.
Dennis used the ANDRUSS spelling but his children seem to have reverted to the traditional ANDREWS spelling.
