(Pantagraph, Oct 31,1992)---Carol J Hoggins, 53, of 14 Crystal Ct, Pontiac, died at 12:35pm Thursday (Oct 29,1992) at Saint James Hospital,Pontiac, after a lengthy illness. Her funeral will be at 2:30pm Sunday at First Lutheran Church, Pontiac. The Revs Craig A Wagner and Gretchen Steinbaugh will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded. Inurnment will be a Rowe Cemetery, Rowe. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Raleigh J Harris Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. She was born May 27,1939, in Pontiac, the daughter of Melvin D and Blanche Abraham Sykes. She married William L Hoggins Oct 16,1960. Surviving are 2 daughters, Jody Lynn Hoggins, 1313 Townley Drive, Bloomington; and Kristi Louise Hoggins, Pontiac; one granddaughter; her mother, Pontiac; one brother, Melvin D Sykes, Pontiac; and 2 sisters, Judith Lynn Sykes and Sandra Jean Pool, both of Pontiac. She was preceded in death by her father. Mrs Hoggins was educated in Pontiac schools and graduated from PontiacTownship High School. She attended Elmhurst College and graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor of science degree in accounting. She was a practical certified public accountant. Mrs Hoggins was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Pontiac, and AICPA. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Saint James Hospital Hospice Program.
