A native of Center Point, he was the sone of the late Alonzo and Ellen Brown Rees, and had lived in Center Point all of his life. He had been in the mercantile business at one time and had also operated a filling station. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of the home address; two children, Mrs Walter Cowden of Kerrville and Chester A Rees of San Antonio; one brother, Charles J Rees of Center Point and two sisters, Mrs Janice Carriger and Mrs Abbie Dechert, both of Center Point, and five grandchildren.
